Good Citizens Classes

“Consolidating the basics and taking you on to more challenging training”

These classes are available to those who’ve completed our Junior Beginners or Adult Starters courses or who’ve achieved the Bronze level Good Citizens award or higher elsewhere. We aim to increase your knowledge and dog handling skills to produce well behaved dogs that are a credit to you. We also offer you the opportunity to cover the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels of the Kennel Club Good Citizens Schemes . Good Citizens tests are arranged as appropriate for those who'd like to take them. We use positive reward based training methods and sometimes train outdoors, weather permitting.

It is important to keep training your dog whatever its age, to ensure that it is happy, under control and safe. Regular training also reinforces your partnership. You’ll find you will make real progress if you practice regularly. Keep your training sessions away from class short and enjoyable. Take just five to ten minutes, when you are feeling positive, to work on what we have covered in class.

Courses are booked in advance in eight week prepaid cycles. We always endeavour to keep class sizes small. Priority will be given to existing class members. Please familiarise yourself with our Code of Conduct before starting this class.

To get the best out of your class please look at our recommendations on what to do Before Training. Please remember to bring your dog Training Kit with you. If you have any questions or concerns speak to your trainer. We’re here to encourage and help you.
