Gary Shaughnessy and Andy Tucker receiving the Guiness World Record for their 12 and 24 hour 3-legged race. They raised money for Parkinson's UK where Gary is Chairman and himself suffers with the disease.

2022 classes - update : Training classes resumed on 01 February 2022 at Basingstoke Rugby Football Club. We are currently running three courses: Puppy (KC Puppy Foundation, 6.30pm), Junior (7.30pm) and KC Good Citizen (Bronze, Silver and Gold, 8.30pm). All classes run on a 7 week cycle and the next round will begin on Tuesday 22nd March 2022. Charitable donations - Parkinson's UK, The Cinnamon Trust and Viables Memory Club : Every Christmas, the Club makes one or more charitable donations and we try to choose charities that have a connection to our club members. As most of you know, one of our long-term members and instructors, Karen Thompson, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a few years ago, so this year one of our chosen charities was Parkinson’s UK. Karen suggested we take a look at the fund-raising page of Gary Shaughnessy, a local friend of Karen’s who also has Parkinson’s. Gary is undertaking 2 years of crazy challenges, raising funds for Parkinson’s UK that will help with research into a cure for this disease. Gary's former employers are generously matching every £ he raises, to go to charities across the country that provide care and support for patients. Please take a look at Gary's page for details of all his challenges. On behalf of the Club members, the committee chose to make this year’s donation to this very worthy cause.

Update - 22/02/2022 - Gary has just received verification from the Guinness book of World Records that he and his friend Andy have been confirmed as World Record holders, having successfully completed their 24 hour 3-legged race. The Club also made a donation to The Cinnamon Trust and to Viables Memory Club. The latter requested by Coral Minifie in lieu of payment for the work she had done on the Club accounts. Posted 27 February 2022

2022 classes : The Club is pleased to announce the restart of training classes from Tuesday, 01 February 2022 at Basingstoke Rugby Football Club. We will be running three courses: Puppy (6.30pm), Intermediate (7.30pm) and Good Citizen (8.30pm), each on a 7 week cycle. Owners who have recently contacted the Club will be offered a place on a suitable course, when there is availability. In time and Covid-willing, we hope to offer additional courses and we would like to thank-you for your understanding during these difficult times. The Club has had to restructure as some trainers have moved on. We are sincerely grateful to our new venue Basingstoke Rugby Club for their help and support in enabling our Club to continue. We look forward to welcoming back our current members and to meeting new owners and their puppies/dogs over the coming months.
